STEVEN M. KAPLAN |
Steven M. Kaplan is a founding partner of K&L and focuses his practice on Litigation, Intellectual Property & Entertainment and Real Estate. Mr. Kaplan focuses on business, securities, intellectual property and commercial litigation; business, real estate and commercial transactions; intellectual property licensing; and provides intellectual property representation and legal counseling to clients in many industries, including but not limited to the manufacturing, toy, entertainment, hospitality, restaurant, fashion, service and consumer products industries.
Mr. Kaplan graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law with a J.D. in 1992, where he was a member of the Moot Court Team. He received his B.B.A. Cum Laude from the School of Government and Business Administration at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. in 1989.
Mr. Kaplan is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Wisconsin. In addition, Mr. Kaplan is admitted to practice before the U.S. Second and Third Circuit Courts of Appeals.
Mr. Kaplan has achieved Martindale Hubbell's highest rating of AV in an evaluation of his skills and ethics by other members of the bar and the judiciary. He is a member of the American Bar Association (Intellectual Property Section), New Jersey Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and New York County Lawyers Association. He also serves as a legal expert for the Crier Today show on Court TV.
